How long has it been since you got a quality night’s rest? When you are struggling to get your eight hours, life can seem so much more difficult. But, if you are able to get to the root of your issues, you stand a better chance of finally getting the important sleep you need. Dr. Jay R. Goldman has helped many people overcome insomnia, chronic pain, nightmares, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and more. Of the many treatment options available, insomnia has a few choices.

1)  CBT- I   This is a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy geared to treat Insomnia also termed Sleep Restriction or Sleep Compression.  Dr. Jay R. Goldman was trained at UPENN, Dept. of Psychiatry for this type of treatment which requires a 4 week sleep diary and then about 4 weeks of therapy.  (about 8 -10 weekly visits)  80% successful.

2)  NEURO-THERAPY.  Neuro-therapeutic treatment utilizing Nexalin, an FDA Cleared device requiring 4-5 sessions per week.  The patient usually requires 10-15 sessions over 2-3 weeks.  Each session is 40 minutes in length.  90% successful.

3)  NEUROFEEDBACK (EEG BIOFEEDBACK).  This is a form of biofeedback which allows the patient to regulate and control his or her brain waves.  We know certain brain waves influence sleep… some influence mood… and other brain waves influence chronic pain.  Although Neurofeedback dates back to the 60’s, it has made significant advances in the last decade regarding insomnia, chronic pain, depression and anxiety. Neurofeedback teaches you how to control your own brain waves which have been dysregulated causing the insomnia. There is compeling evidence that shows changing your brain waves can eliminate insomnia.  This is a NON-DRUG therapy.  In most cases, our patients need to taper their sleep meds.

An integrative approach to wellness is generally your best bet to return towards your world of normalcy.
